What is keyword bidding?
Keyword bidding is the process of bidding on keywords for specific rankings in pay-for-placement search engines. The more you bid per click, the higher your site will rank in the pay-for-placement search engine you have selected. The more popular pay-for-performance search engines are Overture, FindWhat, Kanoodle, Ah-Ha, Sprinks, 7Search and Bay9. Espotting is the major pay-for-performance search engine in Europe. Check out our article, Pay-For-Performance Engines, for more detailed information about keyword bidding.

How does your keyword bid management service work?
Basically, we assist you with keyword selection and research per click costs for each engine. You have final approval on which keywords you want to bid, the ranking you want, the maximum cost per click for each keyword and the overall budget for each pay-for-performance engine you select. Then, we will write targeted titles and descriptions for each keyword and engine and set up an account in each selected pay-for-performance search engine. Once everything is set up, we check all your bids daily to ensure that you stay in the ranking you want (up to you cost per click maximum) for each keyword and eliminate any bid gaps that may develop. For additional information and pricing, see our keyword bid management service page.

What are bid gaps?
Bid gaps are gaps in the cost per click between you and the next lowest bid. For example, you instructed us to ensure that you stay in 3rd for a particular keyword without exceeding a $2.00 cost per click maximum. Currently, you are bidding $1.32 for that ranking and keyword. The 4th ranking's cost per click is currently $1.28. In this example, there is a bid gap of $0.04. We would reduce your bid to $1.29 allowing you to pay $0.03 less per click for the same #3 ranking. Bid gaps arise when the competition below you lowers its bid to eliminate its bid gap, the competition runs out of funds or discontinues the pay-per-click campaign.

What pay-for-placement search engines does Look Sharp Designs support?
We currently support Overture (US and UK), FindWhat, Kanoodle, Ah-Ha, Sprinks, 7Search and Bay9.

How much does your keyword bid management service cost?
The base cost for our keyword bid management service starts at $250 per month for up to 10 keywords per pay-for-placement search engine. We will also add in any set up fees required by the pay-for-placement search engines, and you will have to determine your total monthly budget. If you think that this is expensive, consider that our normal consultation fee is $75 per hour. If we spend only 15 minutes managing your keyword bids every day for a full month (30 days), our consultation fee alone for the month is over $500.

What is reciprocal linking?
Reciprocal linking is giving a link on your site to another site in exchange for a link to your site on their site.

How can reciprocal linking help me?
Reciprocal linking can help you in primarily two ways. First, you can get direct traffic from other sites to yours. Second, some search engines consider link popularity, or reciprocal links, in their ranking algorithms. By acquiring links on web sites, you can possibly boost your rankings in search engines that take link popularity under consideration for ranking purposes.

How does your reciprocal link directory program work?
Initially, we will set up a link directory with 50 to 100 links to other sites that are similar in topic to yours in various categories. These can be either horizontal, i.e. sites offering the same services and products as yours, or vertical, i.e. sites offering services and products that compliment your services and products. We will then build the link directory so that it integrates into your site perfectly, including graphics, colors and page structure. Once the link directory is completed and live on your domain, we then will send out e-mails requesting a reciprocal link to all sites that qualify (not all sites will qualify). Any webmasters that adds your site to their links page will be elevated to link partner status, which will give them added visibility in your link directory. This is an incentive to get webmasters to add your link. Approximately, two weeks later, we will send out a second e-mail to request a reciprocal link to all those webmasters who did not respond to the first e-mail. For pricing, additional information and monthly link directory management services, see our reciprocal linking service page.

How much does your reciprocal link directory program cost?
The initial service is $250. We also offer a monthly maintenance and managment for you link directory for $250 per month. For all the details, see our reciprocal link directory management service page.
